Portrait of a Duck & Other Waterbirds
I live in a coastal community with waterbirds that fly over my garden regularly to and from the wetlands that aren't far from our home. Being lovers of the sea, my husband and I will often go to the marina not far from our home or visit the beaches of the Pacific coast that are a little farther away.
Each time I'm near the water, I find myself intrigued by the birds that live and congregate there. The movement of wildlife has always caught my immediate attention away from whatever activity I am currently engaged. Viewing the birds through my camera lens has added a new dimension to my interest. Photographing the birds has revealed to me a humorous side to nature as well as the grace, beauty, and simplicity of their forms and colors. I have attempted to capture these many facets in my work represented here in "Portrait of a Duck & Other Waterbirds".
